Finally switched from our old analytics platform to Pecan yesterday. Setup was pretty straightforward, but I'm curious about the real-time predictions. Anyone here using it for immediate marketing campaign adjustments?

P PoojaR 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Hey Rahul! Welcome to the Pecan side. We've been on it for about 6 months, primarily for customer acquisition optimization. The real-time stuff is actually quite powerful once you get your data streams dialed in. We use it to quickly pause underperforming ads and double down on the ones showing early signs of good LTV. It's not magic, but it definitely helps shave off wasted spend.

We heavily rely on their API integrations. Getting our ad platform data flowing in seamlessly was key. Took a bit of effort initially, but worth it.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for. Any specific integrations that made the real-time aspect smoother for you?

I'm still on the fence about the real-time. We're a smaller e-commerce shop, mostly using it for churn prediction and customer segmentation. The daily reports are great, but haven't really seen the need for super instant changes. Maybe I'm missing something?

Yeah, makes sense. Our campaigns run for longer so maybe it's not as critical for us.

It really depends on your volume and how quickly you need to react. For high-volume campaigns, even small real-time tweaks can save a lot.

Considering Pecan for fraud detection in our fintech startup. We're currently using a mix of manual reviews and some basic rule-based systems, which is getting overwhelming. Anyone using Pecan specifically for fraud and can share their experience?

M maxwell 8 hours ago ✓ Best Answer
We use it for fraud detection in our lending platform. It's been a game changer honestly. The AI-powered insights quickly flag suspicious transactions that our old rules would completely miss. It took about a month to fine-tune the models with our historical data, but now it's pretty accurate. Significantly reduced our false positives compared to our previous system.

It wasn't too bad. They have pretty good data integration capabilities. We used their API for most of our internal systems, and they connected directly to some third-party data providers too.

That's great to hear. Was the data integration difficult for you? We have a lot of disparate sources.

Not for fraud detection specifically, but we use Pecan for risk assessment in insurance. The predictive modeling capabilities are really strong. I imagine it would translate well to fraud detection too given it's all about anomaly detection.

Good point, the underlying tech for anomaly detection probably similar. Thanks!

Curious about this too. Our current fraud system is a nightmare.

Same here. Manual reviews are just not scalable anymore.

Our renewal price for Pecan just came in and it's noticeably higher than last year. Has anyone else experienced a significant jump in their subscription costs recently? Wondering if this is normal or if I need to haggle with support.

G gamerraj 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Same here! It wasn't a huge jump for us, but definitely more than I expected. I did contact support and they mentioned some new features being rolled out that justified the increase. Didn't really help with the bill though. I'd definitely reach out and ask.

They talked about some new advanced anomaly detection capabilities and better integration with certain ad platforms. Sounded good on paper but we haven't really used them yet.

Following this, my renewal is coming up soon too.

Thanks, I'll definitely give support a call then. What features did they mention?

My pricing has been stable. Maybe it depends on your plan level or usage volume?

Could be. We're on the enterprise plan.

Mine increased too, but I attributed it to going from a trial promo rate to standard pricing. Did you have any special discounts last year? Sometimes they hook you in with a lower first-year rate.

Hmm, I don't recall a specific promo, but it's possible. I'll check my old invoices.
